Nagpur News: Host Dhanwate National College (DNC) emerged general champion in Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krida Mahotsav performing exceptionally well in volleyball and cross country event respectively.
The sports festival, which concluded on Thursday, was organised under the aegis of Dhanwate National College (DNC). The host Dhanwate National College, won volleyball tournament in boys category. Dhanwate National College, became champion in cross country event in boys category as well, whereas DNC finished third in girls category. In all, DNC earned 11 points.
In kabaddi, Sriniketan Mahavidyalay girls claimed the title while Kala Mahavidyalay emerged champion in boys category.
Later, a concluding programme was organised in which prizes were given away to the winners. The programme was presided over by president of Shivaji Educational Institute, advocate Arun Shelke. Chief guests on the occasion were Institute’s deputy presidents, Vasant Charjan and Mahadev Bhuibhar.
Also present on the occasion were treasurer, Haribhau Thakre; deputy director, sports, Dr. Jaiprakash Duble; principal, Dr. Devendra Burghate, Ashok Mhatre, Gunvant Kinikar, Arvind Deshmukh and principal of Dhanwate National College, Dr. Baban Taiwade.
