Goods worth Rs 76 lakh stolen from closed MAPL company in MIDC

Nagpur: Various goods and machinery worth Rs 76 lakh were stolen from the closed company – Maharashtra Antibiotics and Pharmaceutical Ltd (MAPL) in MIDC. The accused include a Security Supervisor, guards and an unidentified miscreant. The theft took place between October, 2008 and July, 2021.

The complaint, Mita Devtosh Ghosh (56), native of 372, Shitla Nagar, Dehu Road, Pune, told MIDC police that she owned the company Maharashtra Antibiotics and Pharmaceutical Ltd (MAPL) in MIDC. The company has been closed since 2004. Between October, 2008 and July, 2021, the unidentified Supervisor of Bombay Security Services, all security guards and a miscreant, taking advantage of shut down company, stole a computer worth Rs 5,000, office equipment worth Rs 10,000, all types of parts and machinery worth Rs 45.53 lakh, electric installations worth Rs 10.50 lakh, laboratory equipment worth Rs 5.16 lakh and furniture and texture worth Rs 3.50 lakh. The collective worth of stolen goods is about Rs 76 lakh.

MIDC PSI Jadhav, based on Ghosh’s complaint, booked the accused under Sections 461, 380, 34 of IPC and launched a probe into the matter.
