Nagpur News: In an effort to motivate students from Nagpur to join the Indian Air Force, a Unique Student Interaction Drive “Guardians of the Sky”, would be conducted at Dhanvate National College Auditorium on 04 Oct 2013. A team of Officers from Air Headquarters along with members of Directorate of Adventure would be interacting with students of Nagpur, making presentations and guiding them as to how to join the IAF.
The interaction drive at Nagpur would commence in the morning of 04 Oct 13 at 0915 hrs. The students would also be subjected to a quiz on IAF and winners, nearly 30 to 40 students, would be given an opportunity to undergo microlight flying, hang-gliding (powered) and parasailing the same day at Air Force Station, Sonegaon.
“The purpose of these activities is to develop the IAF Brand amongst the young Indians. One-on-one interactions with the youth have been found to be the most effective. The aim of the Drive is to interact with the Students, provide guidance on career opportunities in the IAF and to organize competitions and adventure activities like parasailing, hang-gliding & microlight flying for the students” said
Air Marshal PR Sharma, the Air Officer-in-Charge Personnel (AOP) of Indian Air Force.
“This is a unique opportunity and the Students of Nagpur must benefit from it.
I request them to attend with their friends. This direct contact programme would not only include motivational lectures, but also give students an opportunity to experience adventure by doing parasailing, microlight flying and powered hang-gliding” says Sqn Ldr Subhika Arora, the Chief Coordinator for the event at Nagpur.
The event is likely to be inaugurated by Dr. Vilas Sapkal, Vice Chancellor of Nagpur University. Dr. Arun Patil, Incharge of Students welfare, of Nagpur University is making the necessary arrangements from the university to extend the benefit of the event to maximum number of Students.
