Nagpur: This year, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) is striving to ensure that the Ganeshotsav is celebrated in an eco-friendly manner. As part of this effort, 12 artificial tanks have been set up at Chitnis Park, Mahal, through the special fund of BJP MLC Praveen Datke. These tanks are of international standards and have been imported from Germany.
On Sunday, at a ceremony organized at Chitnis Park, Mahal, the artificial tanks were dedicated to public by MLC Praveen Datke. Former MLC Anil Sole, Assistant Commissioner of Gandhibagh Zone Ganesh Rathod, former Mayor Dayashankar Tiwari, Sports Officer Dr. Piyush Ambulkar, along with other NMC officials and staff, were prominently present on the occasion.
At Chitnis Park, Mahal, the late Prabhakarrao Datke Memorial Foundation, along with other voluntary organizations, is assisting Ganesh devotees coming for the immersion rituals.”
The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has arranged for artificial tanks at various locations across the city to promote an eco-friendly Ganeshotsav. As the festival reaches its culimnation, NMC is fully prepared for the immersion of Lord Ganesh idols, with 419 artificial tanks set up at 209 locations in the city.
In total, NMC’s Solid Waste Management Department has set up 419 immersion tanks for the convenience of devotees across the city. Additionally, there will be 331 tanks made of centring material, 31 rubber tanks, 32 pits, 3 concrete tanks, and 22 mobile tanks.
