Nagpur: The body of 19-year-old Pooja Mate, who had been missing for the past three days, was found floating in Zilpi Lake, near Nagpur, on Thursday. The discovery was made in the area under the jurisdiction of the Hingna Police Station.
Pooja was reported missing three days ago by her parents, who filed a complaint at the Rana Pratap Nagar Police Station. On Thursday morning, locals spotted a body in Zilpi Lake and promptly notified the Hingna Police.
After recovering the body, police circulated images and details to nearby stations. The description matched that of Pooja Mate. Officers from the Rana Pratap Nagar Police Station, along with Pooja’s family, quickly arrived at the scene to confirm the identification.
The circumstances surrounding Pooja’s death are still unclear. Police have classified the case as an accidental death and are continuing their investigation to determine the cause.
