Nagpur: In a ghastly road accident, two youngsters lost their lives when a recklessly driven boring machine truck overturned and crushed them in Hingna area here on Sunday afternoon. The driver of the killer truck has been arrested.
The deceased have been identified as Kamalsingh Ram Avatar (20), native of Borigaon (MP) and Chhotelal Singh Vijendra Singh (21) of Lahiri (MP). The boring machine truck (KA-51/MA 3987), after finishing boring work at Kanholibara, was returning to Hingna at about 3 pm on Sunday. The driver of the heavy truck, Shiktivel Kalidas Vel (39) of Pandharpuri, Viriminagar (Tamilnadu), was driving the vehicle in utter reckless manner. As a result, when the truck reached at Mauza Nagzari Shivar, near 12 km stone on Kanholibara-Hingna Road turning, the driver lost control and the boring machine truck overturned. Unfortunately, the two young boys were bang at the spot and came under the overturned heavy truck. Kamalsingh died on the spot while Chhotelal Singh succumbed to injuries during the treatment at GMCH. The truck also suffered major damage.
Based on a complaint lodged by Yogesh Shivnarayan Gupta (38) of Vathoda, Head Constable Parshuram has booked the truck driver under Sections 279, 337, 338, 304(A) of IPC read with Section 184 of Motor Vehicles Act and placed him under arrest.
