Nagpur: In an audacious act, two unidentified men burst into an aged woman’s house, gagged and tied her and decamped with a gold chain-locket worth Rs 40,000 in Mankapur area here on Sunday.
A resident of Plot No. 42, Aradhana Society, Godhni, Rudha Ramnath Thakur (62) told police that she was alone in her house on Sunday. Around 3.45 pm, two unidentified men came to her house on the pretext of making a cover on water tank. With this pretext, the men entered Rudha’s house. However, even before she could gauge the nasty plan of the two men, they gagged her with a cloth and tied her with a rope. Later, the two accused snatched a gold chain with locket worth Rs 40,000 from Rudha and fled the spot. She anyhow managed to free herself and raised an alarm but it was too late.
Based on Rudha’s complaint, Mankapur PSI M B Tripathi has registered a case under Sections 392, 34 of the IPC and launched a search to nab them.
