Police sources revealed that the 21-year old girl is teacher by profession and her boyfriend is pursuing BCCA. Both were passing through Kapsi Flyover on Highway in Kalamna area around 8 pm on Monday (December 1). At the same time, the five accused goons, in the age group of 20-40 years, posed as policemen and intercepted them.  The accused bogus policemen forced both to seat in their vehicles separately and took them away. At a secluded place midway, the five accused dropped the boy and forcibly took the girl at an unidentified place and gang-raped her at knife point. After the savage crime, the bogus policemen threatened to kill the girl if she tells about the incident to anyone. However, the girl, though devastated, gathered courage and lodged a complaint with Kalamna Police Station in this connection.

Kalamna Constable Prabhakar, acting on the complaint, booked the five accused bogus policemen under Sections 376(D), 367, 363, 506(B), 170 of the IPC and launched a hunt to nab the perpetrators of this barbaric crime.

The incident has triggered a wave of shock and anger across the city as the goons audaciously posed as policemen to commit the well-planned crime. Police too, it seems, have not taken the crime seriously as a constable has registered the crime rather than any higher police official.
