21,501 electricity consumers in Nagpur Circle select MSEDCL’s ‘Go Green’ option

Nagpur: A total of 21,501 electricity consumers from the Nagpur Circle, including 18,350 from Nagpur district and 3,151 from Wardha district, have completely rejected printed electricity bills, opting to stop the use of paper entirely and have subscribed to Mahavitaran’s Go Green service.

By choosing the option of receiving electricity bills via email and SMS, these consumers are saving Rs 10 per bill every month, amounting to Rs 120 annually. In the past year, electricity consumers in the Nagpur Circle who adopted the Go Green option have collectively saved over Rs 25.80 lakh.

To engage electricity consumers in environmental protection and reduce the use of paper, Mahavitaran has taken the initiative under the ‘Go Green’ campaign. Under this scheme, customers are given the option to receive their electricity bills via email or SMS, reducing paper consumption and minimizing environmental degradation.

Key benefits of the scheme:

• Environmental Protection: Reducing paper usage helps in minimizing deforestation and conserving the environment.

• Cost Savings: Consumers receive a discount of Rs 10 per bill. Additionally, if the bill is paid promptly upon receipt, a 1% discount is offered for timely payment.

• Convenience: Consumers receive their bills via email or SMS.

• Effective use of technology: The scheme promotes the efficient use of technology.

How to participate in the Go Green scheme:

• Register online by visiting the Mahavitaran website: Go Green Registration.

• Download the Mahavitaran mobile app and register for the Go Green scheme.

• After registration, you will receive a link via email. Click on the link to complete your registration.

• To ensure that your e-bill does not go to the spam folder, add Mahavitaran’s email address (msedcl_ebill@mahadiscom.in) to your address book.

• If you need a printed bill, you can save the bill received via email on your computer and print it.

• Previous bills are also available on the Mahavitaran website or mobile app.

Colour print option for bills:

If electricity consumers need printed electricity bills, they can save the soft copy of the monthly bill received via email on their computer. Additionally, the original format of the current month’s electricity bill is available on Mahavitaran’s official website www.mahadiscom.in. Consumers can download or take a colour print of the bill in its original format as needed.
