Nagpur: Sakkardara police have booked three conmen for defrauding a trader to the tune of Rs 1.25 lakh by posing themselves as distributor of surgical equipment and eye lenses.

The accused Mohsin Subhan Khan (30) of Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, Kamptee Road, Ravikant Ganesh Khobragade (43) of Ruprang Building, Jaripatka and Manoj Sai Savani (28) allegedly printed a brochure having bogus service centre number and posed themselves as authorized distributors of surgical machines, eye lenses and optical machines. With these bogus documents, the accused trio approached the trader Vilas Haridas Jumle (48), resident of Plot No. 39, Omkar Nagar and procured an order for a surgical machine. They also took Rs 1.25 lakh towards the machine. However, the trio neither supplied the machine to Jumle nor showed readiness to return his money. But after a lot of pressure, the accused returned Rs 80,000 but failed to return remaining Rs 45,000 forcing Jumle to lodge a police complaint.

Sakkardara PSI Fulzele has registered a case against the accused under Sections 420, 34 of the IPC and probing the matter further.
