Nagpur: Cyber Police of Nagpur arrested three online fraudsters from Bihar for duping a city property dealer of over Rs 20.35 lakh.
Identified as Ganesh Saryug Paswan (39), Raviranjan Kumar Yogendra Paswan (25) and Rohit Kumar Sahdeo Paswan (22), the accused are the residents of Bihari Bigha, Post Mafi, Panchayat Kathari, district Nalanda, Bihar.
According to police, property dealer Shailendra Krishnabhushan Choudhary (51), a resident of House No B7, Rahul Complex1, near Ganeshpeth Bus Terminus in Nagpur, wanted to start a Zudio Store of Trent Limited (Tata Enterprises) in 2023. He submitted an application on the company’s website. The accused trio prepared a fake mail id of the company. They then sent him a fake form of the company. After he filled up the form, they tricked him into depositing Rs 20.35 lakh in an account of Punjab National Bank towards registration and processing fees and later siphoned off the money.
Following Choudhary’s complaint, Nagpur Cyber Police registered a case under Sections 419,420,465,467,468,471 of the Indian Penal Code, read with Section 66(d) of the Information Technology Act, against the fraudsters. Acting on a tip off, a police team visited Nalanda, Bihar. The team trapped the accused and took them into custody. Cops brought them to the city and obtained remand for their custodial interrogation.
The arrests were made by PI Anil Dolas, PI Amol Deshmukh, API Vivek Lamture and others under the supervision of DCP (Detection) Nimit Goyal and ACP (Crime) Dr Abhijeet Patil.
