Nagpur, The Nagpur Municipal Corporation – Orange City Water (NMC-OCW) announces the postponement of the planned 30-hour shutdown of the Kanhan Water Treatment Plant (WTP) due to a sudden electrical breakdown.
On June 29, 2024, at 22:30 hours, an unexpected electrical failure occurred at the Kanhan WTP on a 33KV cubicle. The necessary repair work on the 33KV outgoing cubicle and associated systems could only be completed by 16:30 hours on June 30, 2024.
This 18-hour breakdown resulted in the disruption of water supply during both morning and evening supply timings. The interruption affected thirty-two command areas and two direct tappings fed by the Kanhan Feeder mains, primarily impacting the Ashi Nagar Zone, Satranjipura Zone, Lakarganj Zone, and Nehru Nagar Zone.
