4 robbers arrested for attacking man, nephew, looting them in Nagpur

Nagpur: Wathoda Police nabbed four robbers who had looted a gold chain worth Rs 40,000 from a young man after attacking him and his nephew with sticks.

The accused have been identified as Sumit Gyaneshwar Tamkhane (28), a resident of Plot No 127, Orange Nagar, Lukesh Pundlikrao Thakre (20), a resident of Ambe Nagar, Kharbi, Nilesh Gajanan Morey (28), a resident of Chapanwadi, Yavatmal, and Rishikesh Sachin Badnaik (19), a resident of Plot No 52, Senapati Nagar.

Vaibhav Narayan Rude (25), a resident of Plot No 62, Sai Baba Nagar, Kharbi Chowk, and his nephew Bhavesh had gone to a paan kiosk around 8.45 pm on Monday. The accused quartet, who had allegedly consumed alcohol, were already standing near the paan kiosk. The robbers suddenly attacked Vaibhav and his nephew with sticks. They then yanked the gold chain off Vaibhav’s neck and fled in a Swift DZire car (MH-49/AT2457).

Wathoda police had registered a case against the robbers and were searching for them.

Three goons held for assaulting, looting man

Nandanvan Police arrested three goons for assaulting a man and looting Rs 18,000 cash from him. The accused have been identified as Siddharth Anil Pillewan (22), a resident of Shastri Nagar Slums, Aslam Khan Firoz Khan (22), a resident of Kabristan Lane, Hasanbag and Nawaz Khan Rafiq Khan (22), a resident of Timki, near police chowki.

Around 2.30 am on Sunday, Sachin Chandrabhan Choudhary (39), a resident of Plot No 516, Chitnis Nagar, Umrer Road, was returning home on a motorcycle. Near NIT Bus Parking, Jagnade Chowk, Sachin’s bike skidded off the road and he suffered injuries. The accused trio came on the pretext of helping him. They took Sachin to the roadside and thrashed him. They snatched Rs 18,000 cash from his pocket and fled the spot.

Following the victim’s complaint, police registered a case under Sections 394,504, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code. Later, cops arrested the goons after identifying them from CCTV footage.
