Nagpur: A heart-wrenching incident unfolded as a 4-year-old boy lost his life due to electrocution after coming into contact with a Set-Top Box (STB) at his residence in the Khaire Pannase area, falling under the jurisdiction of Hingna police station.
The victim has been identified as Priyanshu Dnyaneshwar Chavhare, a resident of Khaire Pannase locality in Hingna. According to the police, the unfortunate incident occurred on a Tuesday afternoon. While Priyanshu was engrossed in watching cartoons on the television, his father was resting in the bedroom.
Tragically, Priyanshu inadvertently pulled the Set-Top Box from its place and attempted to carry it. This action resulted in an electric shock that rendered him unconscious. The father discovered the distressing scene upon finding his son lying unconscious on the floor. Urgent measures were taken as he rushed Priyanshu to a nearby hospital. Despite all efforts, the doctors declared the young boy dead.
In response to the heartrending incident, Hingna police have registered a case of accidental death.
