Nagpur: In a significant decision, the Nagpur District Collector Dr Vipin Itankar has directed setting up of 42 check posts with CCTV surveillance in the district to take strict action against the anti-social elements that dent the revenue of the government through illegal sand transport. The directions were issued in a meeting of the Police, Revenue and Minor Minerals Department in the district on Thursday.
Dr Itankar also directed the Revenue, Police, Minor Minerals Department and village sarpanches to keep a watchful eye on trends that harm the natural water resources and secondary minerals in the district. In this regard, he also ordered the appointment of dedicated staff of Sub-Divisional Officer, Tehsildar, Group Development Officer to maintain coordination among all departments.
The meeting was attended by District Superintendent of Police Vijay Magar, Resident Deputy Collector Vijaya Bankar, Executive Engineer of Public Works Department Janardhan Bhanuse, District Supply Officer Ramesh Bende, District Mine Works Officer Shriram Kadu and all Sub-Divisional Officers of the district online.
In the meeting, the District Collector gave instructions about appointing staff at check posts, keeping CCTV camera surveillance at that place, using drone cameras as necessary, holding meetings at taluka and important places at village level. He said that the police administration will inform every In-Charge Police Inspector of police stations about this.
In the same meeting, Dr Itankar reviewed the PM Kisan Yojana. The Central Government has instructed to fill KYC so that the funds received by the farmers will be deposited directly in their accounts. He said that even though the Revenue Department is working day and night in this regard, every Tehsildar and related employees should take responsibility that no eligible farmer in Nagpur will be deprived of this scheme.
A review of supply in the district was also taken in this meeting. On this occasion, the District Collector directed to provide space for building a new government godown in the district. Instructions were given to install CCTV in the existing godown. All those who have ration cards should be linked with Aadhaar cards. He said that due to the festival days, there should not be any problem in the distribution of food grains to the poor.
