4500-strong police bandobast for peaceful Ganesh idol immersion in Nagpur

Nagpur: Commissioner of Police Dr Ravinder Kumar Singal has announced extensive measures to ensure a peaceful Ganpati Visarjan in Nagpur this year. To maintain law and order, a special team of police officers in plainclothes will accompany the processions of every Sarvajanik Ganesha Mandal.

A total of 4,500 police personnel will be deployed for bandobast during the immersion, including three Additional Commissioners of Police, 10 Deputy Commissioners of Police, 12 Assistant Commissioners of Police, along with 300 police officers and personnel. Additionally, a company of the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) and 1,300 Home Guards will assist the police. Special attention will be given to the immersion sites at Koradi and Futala Lakes.

Special focus on traffic management:

To ensure smooth traffic flow, Deputy Commissioner of the Traffic Branch, Shashikant Satav, has been tasked with overseeing the traffic arrangement. Also, 30 police officers and 600 personnel will be stationed along the routes leading to Koradi and Futala lakes. Ganesh Mandal office-bearers are requested to adhere to the scheduled immersion dates as specified in their applications. Police weekly holidays are cancelled to facilitate effective management.

Zone I and II: Savarkar Nagar Square-Jeryl Lawn – Aath Rasta Square-Laxmi Nagar Square – Bajaj Nagar Square-Shankar Nagar Square – Laxmi Bhavan Square – Law College Square-Ladies Club Lawn Square-Japanese Garden Square-Old Katol Naka Square -Police Lake – Pagalkhana Square – Kalpana Talkies Square – Mankapur Fly-over- Mahadula T Point – Koradi Lake via Bharat Mata Square.

Zone II and IV: Variety Square – Morris College Square-Zero Mile Square – Samvidhan Square- MSEB Y Point – Liberty Square- Coffee House Square-Meshram Putla Square-Y Point – Proceed via Pagalkhana Square to Koradi Lake.

Zone III and IV: Gandhisagar Lake – Agyaram Devi Square -Cotton Market Square – Manas Square-Morris College-Zero Mile Square – Samvidhan Square- MSEB Y-Point – Liberty Square- Coffee House Square-Meshram Putla Square-Camp Y Point -Koradi Lake via Pagalkhana Square.

Zone III: Telephone Exchange Square-Chandrasekhar Azad Square-Mahatma Gandhi Statue Square-AgrasenSquare-Gitanjali Square-Dosar Bhawan Square -LIC Square via Flyover-Liberty Square – Coffee House Square -Meshram Putla Square-Camp Y Point – via Pagalkhana Square.
