Nagpur: Unidentified miscreants pilfered 466 boxes of Dove soaps worth Rs 4.36 lakh from a parked truck in Wadi area here in the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. In another incident, two persons were arrested for transporting illegally mined nine tonnes of manganese ore collectively worth Rs 4.23 lakh.
A truck owner Vinodkumar Rajesh Yadav (27), native of village Rampur Soiree, district Jainapur (UP), loaded total 1399 boxes of Dove soap in his truck (UP-50/F 4244) around 10 pm on Saturday and proceeded to Hajipur Patna for delivery of the goods. Midway, Vinodkumar parked his truck near Ayush Transport Company, Waddhamna on Nagpur Amravati Road for rest. Whele he was in deep sleep, some unidentified miscreants tore tarpaulin cover and took away 466 boxes of Doave soap worth Rs 4.36 lakh in the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. When Vinodkumar noticed the theft, he registered a case with Wadi police.
Wadi police constable Sheshrao Yelekar has booked the unidentified burglars under Section 379 of the IPC and searching for them.
In another incident, a patrolling team of Kalamna police led by PSI S K Morey, received a tip off that two persons were transporting illegally mined nine tonnes of manganese ore in two vehicles, the cops intercepted the two vehicles at Mahalaxmi Weighbridge on Jabalpur Highway in Kalamna police jurisdiction. The cops found the accused Ritesh Ghanshyam Pande (32) of Kanhan and Ashish Muneshwar Somkuwar (26) of Kanhan transporting illegally mined nine tonnes of manganese ore in their truck (MH-31/9681) and Bolero van MH-40/DG 4703) respectively. The collective worth of good was Rs 4.23 lakh.
Kalamna ASI Tiwari booked the two accused under Sections 379, 34 of the IPC and placed them under arrest.
