Nagpur: In yet another kind of incident, Crime Branch sleuths succeeded in arresting a gang of five miscreants who were planning a dacoity in Ganeshpeth area on Wednesday night.
The five accused have been identified as Roshan Krishna Chaudhary (30) of Zingabai Takli, Vilas Manikrao Gaekwad (30), Kalmeshwar, Shankar Raju Kotulwar (32) of Pachpaoli, Gautam Ramesh Patil (24) of Samata Nagar and Vijay Rajendra Gajbe (24), native of Chhattisgarh but presently staying in Mominpura. The API Gokul Suryavanshi (Crime Branch) received secret information that a gang of five suspicious persons had assembled at a dark spot behind Vijay Talkies, near Railway tracks.
Acting swiftly, a team of cops reached the spot and apprehended the accused. Upon frisking, cops recovered a sword, knife, stick, nylon rope, and other material planned to use in the dacoity.
Ganeshpeth PSI Gajbhare, based on a complaint lodged by API Gokul Suryavanshi, has booked the five accused under Section 399 of the IPC read with Sub-section 4+25 of Arms Act and Section 135 of Mumbai Police Act and placed them under arrest.
