Nagpur: In yet another hit-and-run incident, a 5-year old girl riding pillion on her father’s motorcycle was killed after being hit by a rashly-driven car near Kamsari Bazar, Cant Area, J N Road, Kamptee, on Monday evening. The car driver fled the spot fearing arrest.
The deceased, Saloni Rajesh Dahat (5) was a resident of Naya Godam, Prabuddha Nagar, Kamptee. Rajesh Dahat, his wife and daughter Saloni were returning home on a Honda Passion Pro motorcycle (MH-40/P-9635) around 5.30 pm. Suddenly, a speeding car hit them from behind. Saloni and her mother fell off the bike. Saloni received serious head injuries. She was rushed to Mayo Hospital but on the way, she succumbed to her head injuries.

Old Kamptee Police registered a case under Sections 279, 304(A) of the Indian Penal Code, read with Sections 134, 177 of the Motor Vehicle Act against the car driver and searching for him.
Biker killed in road mishap
A 52-year old man riding a motorcycle was killed after being hit by a rashly-driven tipper near Villa Restaurant on Jabalpur highway in Hudkeshwar Police Station area, on Sunday afternoon. The tipper driver sped away fearing arrest.
The deceased, Vijay Babulal Funne was a resident of Tumsar, district Bhandara. Funne and his nephew Tajbil Diliprao Neware (21), a resident of Vrindavan City, Jamtha, were going on a motorcycle (MH-36/N-5286) around 3.45 pm. Funne was taking a U-turn in front of Villa 9 Restaurant on the highway. Suddenly, a recklessly-driven tipper hit Funne and Neware injuring them seriously. Funne was rushed to All India Institute of Medical Sciences where the doctors declared him dead. Neware has been admitted to Bhise Hospital.
After recording the statement of injured Neware, police registered a case under Sections 279, 338, 304(A) of the Indian Penal Code, read with Sections 134, 177 of the Motor Vehicle Act, against the tipper driver.
