Nagpur: Lakadganj police arrested a 57-year old watchman on the charges of raping a 9-year old girl. Moreover, the wife of the accused threatened to kill the victim girl if she opened her mouth.
The arrested accused has been identified as Mahesh Gopalprasad Rahangdale. His wife Maheshwari Mahesh Rahangdale has been booked,

According to police, the girl, a resident of an apartment in Lakadganj police limits, went to the parking area to fetch her bicycle for playing around midnight of April 11. Taking advantage, the accused watchman Mahesh took the girl to his room and exploited her sexually. When the girl narrated the incident to the wife of the watchman, she threatened to kill her if she opened her mouth. Subsequently, the girl told her mother about the incident.
Lakadganj PSI Shukla, based on the complaint of girl’s mother, booked both the accused Mahesh Rahangdale and his wife Maheshwari Mahesh Rahangdale under Sections 376(1)(N), 376(A)(B), 506 of the IPC read with Section 4 of POCSO Act. The accused watchman has been arrested. Further probe is underway.
