6 men booked for erecting Navratri pandal on road in Jaripatka

Nagpur: Jaripatka police booked six persons on the charges erecting Navratri pandal right on the public road without permission and thus violated police orders in force. The pandal hit the vehicular traffic hard.

The six accused have been identified as Bharat Kewalram Haryane (40) of Vednagar, Ashish Gangadhar Ghadge (28), Nara Road, Suresh Premlal Bisen (30), Omnagar, Sumit Ashok Chaudhary (26), Zenda Chowk, Ganesh Manikrao Solanke (18), Babadeep Nagar and Monty Rajendra Jambhulkar (24) of Nagarjun Colony. The accused erected Navratiri pandal on a public road in Jaripatka area without permission from concerned authorities and thus violated the orders of Joint Police Commissioner in this regard. Erection of pandals on the roads is prohibited under Sections 37(1)(3) of Mumbai Police Act 1951.

Jaripatka PSI Dongre registered an offence against the six accused under Sections 341, 431, 177 of the IPC and probing the matter further.
