Authorities note that all JN.1 sub-variant patients experienced only mild symptoms such as cough, cold, and fever, recovering within a week. With an increased focus on Covid-19 testing, there’s a noticeable surge in weekly cases, rising from 12 in the first week of December to 194 reported cases between December 20 and 26.

Public Health Minister Tanaji Sawant has announced the establishment of a new task force in response to the growing number of JN.1 variant cases in the state.
