Nagpur: The 62nd Maharashtra Day was celebrated with glorious tradition and atmosphere of gaiety at Kasturchand Park on Sunday, May 1, in Nagpur. The Guardian Minister of Nagpur District Nitin Raut unfurled the tricolour and also took salute from various units of city police in a parade. Police band, in their beautiful and traditional attire, was an attraction of the celebration.
The Guardian Minister Raut also honoured police personnel for outstanding services. Other dignitaries present on the occasion include acting Divisional Commissioner Piyush Singh, District Collector R Vimala, Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar, Municipal Commissioner Radhakrishnan B, NIT Chairman Suryavanshi and other officials.
The iconic Vidhan Bhavan and Divisional Commissioner office building were all illuminated with decorative lights on the eve of Maharashtra Day. Other administrative and major structures across the city also were decorated to mark the occasion.
