Nagpur: Chandru Iyer, International Business Director, Kingston Smith LLP, called upon the local entrepreneurs to look beyond Nagpur, while addressing a large gathering at VIA Hall .
He was delivering a talk on “Internationalization of business – A buzz word for Indian Entrepreneurs” , in a programme organized jointly by VIA- Economic & Finance Forum and the Exim Forum.
Elaborating on the subject, Iyer traced the days when centuries ago India was a global trading partner, carrying out business around the world. The East – west business was then routed through India.
Iyer said that India is a domestic intensive market where international business does not get top priority. However, in age of economic liberalization liberal import policy may be a threat to domestic industries, it is essential to go international. Few important global players like Haldirams, Vicco, Baidyanath are from Nagpur , he said. Further, there is great scope for Indian Foods in UK as there is large population of Asians in UK, he added.
