Nagpur: The modern conference of Echo started from Nagpur in the form of Echo Nagpur especially e PATHSHALA. The 10th annual event on exotic Echo cases of Echocardiography “ECHONAGPUR 2015” is being held from 7,8 & 9th August 2015 at city of oranges and tigers, Nagpur, India.
The conference is being held under the aegis of Nagpur Echo Summit and CSI Vidarbha chapter, at Hotel Centre Point. It commenced today with hands on workshop “E – Pathshala” where the delegates are taught & trained in art and science of echo of heart functions in normal and abnormal conditions with pre recorded echo studies of real patients compiled specially for the workshop.
The conference aims to focus on case based discussion, provide comprehensive approach towards the diagnostic, clinical decision making, and management skills, in caring for cardiac patients using cardiac imaging and there will be seamless integration of advanced imaging modalities like strain imaging and 3D echo in clinical practice, clinical decision.
This year’s main attraction is case based meeting with around 200 cases being discussed over 2 days. The pre-conference workshop on 7th August called ‘ e- PATHSHALA’ focused on basic and advanced echocardiography with e-learning with the masters. Main faculty guiding the delegates are J.C. Mohan, New Delhi, Dr. Nitin Burkule, Dr. Manish Bansal, Gurgaon, Dr. Satish Parashar Delhi, Dr. Vinayak Agrawal, Delhi, Dr. Shrikanth Sola, Bangaluru, Dr. Krishnam Raju, Hyderabad, Dr. Sameer Shrivastava Delhi.
At the outset Dr. Mahesh Fulwani made opening remarks. Dr. Shantanu Sengupta made introductory welcome speech. They told about the history and layout of the course and how the case based discussions will help understand the subject.
Dr. Shantanu Sengupta who is also , President CSI and Secretary CSI Dr. Pavan Agrawal were present on the occasion. 50 delegates had hands on training in the workshop with most common heart ailments about morphology, function, ejection factors, wall motion abnormalities, valvular defects, interseptal defects, congenital anomalies etc on pre-recorded cases.
Two day full time are devoted to finer aspects of echocardiology with updates and newer concepts at the venue. There are going to be Controversies and cases illustrating application of newer guidelines on valvular, pulmonary and embolism. This conference still also touch upon the current principles of management in old heart failure, pulmonary embolism, pulmonary hypertension, newer anticoagulants, pericardial diseases,, aortic disorders and adult congenital heart diseases as well as evaluation of cardiac masses and systemic disorders.
