As the city gears up for the Ganesh Staphna (installation of the Idol) on Ganesh Chaturthi day i.e. on September 17, 2015, work on the pandals, the lighting arrangements are being done at war-footing.

Nagpur Today spoke to some of the labours who were working on erecting the pandals. Surprisingly, they all seem be hailing from Bengal. One contractor said that they are adept at climbing on a single bamboo. They can create attractive pandals in very less time. The decoration of the pandal using colourful ribbons, cloth etc is unique and attracts attention. Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated with great devotion all over India, Nagpur is no different.
