Court issues non-bailable arrest warrant against him
Nagpur: One of the ill-famous accused Sumit Thakur charged under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA) in many other sensational cases of serious nature and who was given a bail in old cases and charged under MCOCA, his Bail Bond was rejected by court on October 1, 2015.
Sumit Thakur was accused under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA) for many prior cases and had served imprisonment but was given a bail. However, taking cognizance of his criminal activities, Justice V T Suryavanshi of the MCOCA Special Court cancelled the bail bond of Sumit Thakur and issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against him. Justice V T Suryavanshi has directed the Crime Branch Officials to arrest him at the earliest.
Recently, Sumit Thakur had burnt the car of a Professor in Friends Colony. The Gittikhadan police had booked the Vice President of BJP Youth Wing Sumit Thakur, his brother Amit Thakur and their other accomplices on the charges of arson and violence.
Sumit Thakur the Former Vice-President of BJP Youth Wing, Nagpur was since removed from his position and from his primary membership of BJP because of his criminal activities.
