Nagpur: Hadas CBSE School, Ramdaspeth, Nagpur observed “Vaachan Prerna Diwas” to commemorate the 84th Birth Anniversary of Bharat Ratna and former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam on 15 Oct 2015.
To mark the occasion children were explained that importance of reading by SD Chouharia, Chairman, National Task Force for Non-Ferrous who struck an instant chord with the children and the motivation was visible in the smiles of children and teachers alike.
Mridulata Chouharia then ensured that each child was inspired to read a paragraph from a book of the child’s choice from any page that opened up from the book. A relay-reading was conducted in this manner. Children not only enjoyed the new story which emerged from this reading but also started relating the paragraphs. Thus children got a firsthand experience of reading a variety of literature different from academic books.

Teachers, Maithili Gijre, Rashmi Dabli, Sonali Zadgaonkar, Tanuja Chandak, Sujata Satyarthi and Majusha Moghe also explained poetry and prose to children in innovative and interesting style. Principal Dr. Prajakta Shukla thanked the guests and expressed satisfaction at the excitement among the children. Dr. AP Joshi, Secretary, Liberal Education Society appreciated the event and hoped that this encouragement will go a long way in inculcating reading habits among children.
