Nagpur: An Anganwadi teacher on Thursday night committed suicide by hanging in her home. The deceased has been identified as Pushpa Kapse (36). Pushpa ended life around 11.30 pm in the kitchen of her home when other family members were asleep.
According to police, Pushpa Kapse was staying with husband and two daughters in JP Nagar, Kamptee. Her husband works as labourer. Pushpa was a teacher in local Anganwadi. On Thursday, at 11.30 pm, Pushpa hanged herself to a ceiling hook with the help of ‘Odhni’ (Scarf). The incident came to light when her husband woke up and found her nowhere near him.
He went to kitchen and found Pushpa hanging motionless. He immediately cut the ‘Odhni’ and took Pushpa to a hospital where doctors pronounced her ‘brought dead.’
Kamptee police have registered a case of accidental death and investigating the matter further.
