A group of five Bangladeshi nationals staying illegally nabbed. Seven goons, who tried to murder a shopkeeper in Sitabuldi, arrested. Robbery cracked with the arrest of seven muggers.
Nagpur: On a day of cracking success, the Crime Branch of Nagpur Police on Wednesday arrested five Bangladesh nationals who were staying in city illegally and carrying out businesses, nabbed a gang of seven miscreants who had tried to murder an electronics shop owner in Sitabuldi and cracked a robbery case by netting seven muggers involved in the crime.
In the first breakthrough, acting on a secret information that certain Bangaldeshi nationals were staying in city without any valid documents and carrying out businesses sans permission, a joint team of Anti-Terrorist Cell and Crime Branch sleuths raided Santra Market in Cotton Market area and trapped the seven Bangladesh nationals namely Mohd Aminur Mohd Abul Hasan (21), resident of Mominpura, behind Tanvir Hotel, Mohd Abul Hasan Mohd Umar Ali (45) of Old Jailkhana, Bhaldarpura, Rabiul Hussain Ismail Mandal (40) of Ansar Nagar, Mominpura, Mohd Vipul Mohd Issarpil (15) of Old Jailkhana, Bhaldarpura and Shimol Hasan Issarpil Hasan (20), resident of Old Jailkhana, Bhaldarpura.
The five accused Bangladeshi nationals were booked under 3(A), 6(A) of Passport (Entry Into India) Rules 1950 read with Sub-Sections 3(1) A, B of Foreigners Order 1948 and Sub-Section 14 of Foreigners Act and placed under arrest.
In the second success, the Crime Branch nabbed a gang of seven criminals who had stormed into an electronics shop in Sitabuldi area and tried to murder owner of the shop by attacking him with swords and by other means over a dispute. Acting on a tip off and armed with the CCTV footage evidence, the cops spread a dragnet and mounted a hunt to nab the accused. The hunt proved fruitful as the seven accused namely Kanchan Dinesh Pal (25) of Parvatinagar, Shivdatta Naresh Kanaujiya (18) of Parvatinagar, Vivek alias Vicky Vasanta Meshram (19) of Kukde Layout, Ajni, Kash Kishore Kulkarni alias Kuttarmare (20) of Manewada Ring Road, Sanjay Amarnath Pali (21) of Pardeshi Mohalla, Bhagwan Nagar, Kishore Pralhad Kulkarni alias Kuttarmare (45) of Manewada Ring Road, and a juvenile boy were apprehended in a swift action.
The incident had occurred on Monday when the complainant Prashant Ghanshyamdas Nanvani (43), resident of 172, Bank Colony, Jaripatka, along with his father, was managing counter of his shop Tirupati Electronics, situated at Devgade Bhavan, Telipura, Sitabuldi. Between 6 and 9 pm on Monday, the seven accused entered Prashant’s shop forcibly on the pretext of repairing a Pen Drive and resorted to quarrelling with him. The accused suddenly went on rampage and ransacked the shop and bashed up Prashant. When his father tried to intervene, the five goons whipped out swords and with menacing postures tried to eliminate him.
The Crime Branch cracked a robbery case in which a 72-year old man Nirmalkumar Kothari was returning home walking from VCA Stadium on October 24 night. He was carrying a bag containing Rs 10,000 in cash and bank documents. At the same time two motorcycle borne goons snatched the bag and speeded away. On October 27, a team of Crime Branch was patrolling in Gittikhadan area. The cops received a secret information that a history-sheeter Mirza Zahid alias Golu Bismillah Beig and his 5-6 accomplices were given information by one of the accused Raja Ansari regarding Nirmalkumar’s movement and the bag. The gang then kept a watch on Nirmalkumar and two motorcycle borne goons snatched the bag while four others on two separate motorcycles assisted them.
The Crime Branch sleuths swiftly planned action and arrested the seven gang members Mirza Jahid alias Golu Bismilla Beig (23) of Mankapur, Pratik alias Golu Baban Dudhe (22) of Gittikhadan, Shivkumar Chandrabhan Sahare (22), Tushar Manoj Khobragade (20) of Jaripatka, Pravin Dhanraj Suryavanshi (24) of Yashodhara Nagar, Ravi Kishore Yadav (23) of Gittkhadan and Mohd Raja Ansari (29) of Lodhipura.
