Nagpur: This afternoon saw the opening of Swami Ramdev Baba’s organization ‘Patanjali’ opening its first megamart of the country in Nagpur at Laxmi Bhavan square in Dharampeth.
The opening was at the hands of the Rao Harishchandraji Arya, father of the founder of the store Yashpal Arya. It is learnt that Harishchandra Arya was with Baidyanath Ayurveda company for a long time, and then carried his experience and expertize to the cause of Ramdev Baba’s Patanjali, which is one of India’s fastest growing corporations, manufacturing not just medicines based on Ayurveda but also cosmetics, toiletries, and processed food to like corn flakes and biscuits. The megastore will also sell other grocery items like dals, rice, masalas etc. packaged by Patanjali.
Those hoping for some respite to their pockets may find the prices of some items like cosmetics very affordable and attractive, but dals are more expensive than other retailers. We found Tur dal priced at Rs. 90/ for half Kg pack and Chana dal at Rs. 90 for 1 Kg.
Many office bearers of Maharashtra level Patanjali Yoga and associates of Ramdevbaba attended the opening. One of the speakers said that Patanjali was not just aiming at creating a Health revolution through its medicines but also aiming at ‘Swadeshi’ movement and a complete change in the country’s and society’s present Order.
The next mega stores of the state will come up in Mumbai, Pune and Nasik.
