Govardhan-puja performed at Geeta Mandir

The traditional Govardhan Puja, a part of Diwali festivity, was performed with all devotional fervour at Geeta Mandir, Subhash Road, Cotton Market, here in the city. A ritual 56-Bhog dishes were offered to Geeta Mata at her Garbha Gruh.

Govardhan Puja was performed at the hands of Swami Nirmalanand and a large symbolic image of Bhagwan Govardhan was prepared for worship. Green vegetation was arranged and Go-mata (cow-mother) was allowed to pass through it.

Acharya Shiv Bihari Shukla (Haridwar) conducted the rituals and devotional recitations/ chantings were made.
