Nagpur.
The scenario in MLA Hostels in the Second Capital City of Nagpur during the Winter Session would certainly be pleasing for lady legislators. The Assembly Speaker has agreed to the demand of women MLAs and directed the Vidhan Bhavan Secretariat to provide well-furnished kitchens at their MLA Hostel rooms themselves. The Secretariat forwarded the demand to Public Works Department (PWD) which is looking after various works of facelift. Now, the kitchens are being created in the MLA Hostel rooms where the lady legislators would be housed during the Winter Session of State Legislature in the city.
The MLA Hostel No. 1 is reserved for senior and older MLAs. In the same building, 32 women legislators have been allotted rooms that would have well-furnished kitchens. Similarly, the lady MLAs had demanded that their Private Secretaries be provided rooms beside their flats. The contention of the women legislators behind the demand was that the rooms of Private Secretaries far away affected the urgent kind of works that are hallmarks of the Winter Session. This demand too was conceded and the Private Secretaries of lady MLAs have been allotted rooms near their bosses.
