Team is part of Champions Tennis League Season 2
Nagpur: Team owners Sachin Khare, Sanket Khare and Samir Khare along with COO Rajan Nair announced the arrival of the Champions Tennis League (CTL) home team – Nagpur Orangers – and introduced the players to media, at a press conference held on December 2, 2015 at a city Hotel in Nagpur.
Welcoming the players to their home turf, the owners are excitedly looking forward to the home team’s matches against the other 2 teams in Zone B – V Chennai Warriors and Hyderabad Aces. Having defeated both the rival teams in their home cities, it will be very interesting to see how things pan out here in Nagpur. A strong showing by the team in Nagpur would most likely guarantee them a spot in the finals on December 6 in Hyderabad.
Nagpur Orangers is led by captain Alex Corretja, alongside WTA player Jelena Jankovic, ATP player Feliciano Lopez and Indian Davis Cup player Divij Sharan. The team also sees 2 junior players in their midst – Harshasai Challa and Nitin Kumar Sinha.
Sachin Khare, team owner Nagpur Orangers said, “I am very proud and honoured to bring Vijay Amritraj’s brain child- Champions Tennis League (CTL) to Nagpur. It is a great opportunity for the people of Nagpur to watch international and Indian players in action and experience tennis at its finest. I cannot wait to see our team in action and hope to see Nagpur Orangers emerge winners.”
Sachin also announced that Chief Minister of Maharastra Devendra Fadnavis would be gracing the Champions Tennis League match on December 4, 2015.

ALEX CORRETJA
Alex Corretja is a former professional tennis player from Spain. He finished runner up twice at the French Open in 1998 and 2001. He won the ATP Tour World Championships (now called the ATP World Tour Finals) in 1998 and reached his career high singles ranking of 2 in 1999. He also played a key role in helping Spain win its first Davis Cup title in 2000. He has been the Davis Cup captain and has coached top players like Andy Murray.
FELICIANO LOPEZ
Feliciano Lopez is a Spanish professional tennis player. He was the first Spanish tennis player to reach the quarterfinals of Wimbledon since 1972. Lopez achieved his singles career high ranking of 12 in March 2015. He has had a great year in 2015 notching up great wins like beating Rafael Nadal in Cincinnati
JELENA JANKOVIC
Jelena Jankovic is a Serbian tennis player who is a former World No. 1. Her career highlights include winning the Wimbledon Mixed Doubles in 2007 and reaching the finals of the 2008 US Open singles. She has won 3 WTA titles in 2015.
DIVIJ SHARAN
Divij Sharan is an Indian professional tennis player. He specialises in doubles and achieved his career high ranking of 63 in 2014. He reached the 3rd round of doubles at the 2013 US Open.
