Tanker with 22000 liters of LDO oil stolen, 3 arrested

Nagpur: A gang of four crooks took away a 12-wheeler truck-tanker containing 22,000 liters of LDO oil collectively worth Rs 20 lakh belong to a Mumbai company. However, city police succeeded in tracing the truck and arrested three of the gang members. Hunt is on to nab the fourth accused.

The complainant Firoze Mohammed Idris (32), resident of Bhiwandi, Mumbai and owner of Esan Transport, told police that his driver Juber Qureshi filled 22,000 liters of LDO oil in the 12-wheeler tanker (Mh-43/U 4468) and proceeded to Nagpur. However, after reaching Nagpur, the oil was rejected after quality control tests. Subsequently, the driver Juber Qureshi decided to return to Mumbai but first decided to carry out some repairing. He parked his tanker near Kapsi Bridge, Bhandara Road and aws standing near the vehicle. At the same time, the gang of four accused namely Juber Khan, Akhtar, Riyaz and the other named Raju fled away with the tanker collectively worth Rs 19.97 lakh. Shocked by the theft, the driver lodged a complaint with Kalamna police in this regard.

PSI Bhagile, after registering a case, swung into action and alerted all the border posts and kept a close watch on the movement of the stolen tanker. The cops, after great efforts, succeeded in tracing the vehicle and also managed to arrest three of the accused Juber Khan, Akhtar, and Riyaz. The arrested accused have been booked under Sections 379, 34 of IPC. Search is on to nab the absconding accused Raju.
