Nagpur: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a charge sheet in the court of a special judge in a Nagpur-based case. Two directors of city’s Maven Industries — Ashok Rathi and Kishore Rathi — had booked along with two executive directors (ED) of UCO Bank by CBI for criminal conspiracy and fraud. Offences have been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act too in this case.
A loan granted to the company by ignoring norms is reported to have led to a loss of Rs36 crore to the bank. It is learnt that the company submitted fake documents related to the company’s sales to secure the loan. The money received from the bank was also allegedly siphoned off by Maven Industries’ promoters.
Two officers of general manager rank — A V Kulkarni and Harirahan Krishnamurthy — were also booked in the case. A FIR was registered in Maven Industries case on March 31 last year.
The company is in the business of extracting oil from soyabean. Rathis, the promoters of this company, have a residence at Wardhaman Nagar with factories off Bhandara Road and Samudrapur on Wardha Road.
