Nagpur: There are some or the other hassles that arise in the setting up of the elevation pillars for Metro Rail in the city. One such hassle is the hassle is availability of the alignment next to Ram-Jhula Bridge. The Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has assured to hold a meeting within a week with the officials of Metro Rail project and Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) to arrive at an amicable solution for the next to the Ram Jhula flyover.
This meeting will resolve the ongoing conflict which has been going on for quite some time.
It could be mentioned here that the Metro Rail Route which is proposed to run from Automotive Square to Kasturchand Park via Central Avenue (CA) Road. The Metro Rail Route will cross the Nagpur Railway Station. The Metro Rail is no way affecting the existing Ram Jhula Flyover. However, the officials of Metro Rail Project had requested a space of alignment between the existing Ram Jhula flyover and the upcoming flyover.
The Administration of Metro claimed that if they get a space for alignment between the two flyovers, the Metro Rail route will be more convenient. This will also ensure that no danger will befall the buildings situated near the upcoming elevated Metro Rail. However, the officials of MSRDC had refused this request of Metro Rail Project saying that there will be vibrations because of Metro Rail passing over Ram Jhula Flyover which may endanger the Ram Jhula Flyover.
However, after their objection, MSRDC had asked for the design of Metro Rail Route on the spot from the officials of Metro Rail Project. This design has been submitted to the Engineers of MSRDC.
According to the officials of Metro Rail Project, within one week Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is going to Chair a meeting with the officials of MSRDC and Metro Rail Project to arrive at an amicable solution.
The High Court had directed the officials of both the MSRDC and Metro Rail Project to sit with the Chief Minister to come to an amicable solution. In its directives, the High Court had said that since both the projects are in the interest of the development of the city, an amicable solution should be arrived at soon which satisfies both MSRDC and Metro Rail Project.
The final solution will be arrived at by the Chief Minister’s intervention alone claimed the officials of Metro Rail Project.
Designs of Metro Stations to come within 15 days
In its first phase, the administration of Metro Rail Project intends to start the work of running the Metro Rail from Khapri to Sitabuldi. However, this may succeed only by the end of 2016. However, the erection and building of Pillars and Stations will be completed in this effort. In the first phase, the work of building the pillars and infrastructure to run Metro Rail will start at a point near Airport, New Airport, MIHAN, Khapri, Ujwal Nagar, Somalwada, Chatrapati Nagar, Ajni and 9 other stations will be built on Wardha Road. The design and planning of the Stations has been given to Larsen and Toubro (L&T). It is expected that by the end of this month or in the first week of February 2016, the administration of Metro Rail Project will have the designs of the stations of Metro Rail.
After this the Administration of Metro Rail Project will be holding discussions with the owners of the building close to the Stations of Metro Rail about the erection or building of the stations.
