Fire in Make in India EventIt’s now almost a week since last Sunday’s Make in India event at Girgaum Chowpatty and now the opposition cannot find the reason for the delay in the fire report. Especially so, since the programme was organized by the state government and all the senior civic officials, including the chief fire officer, were present at the spot when the incident took place. A senior civic official said that now the report is expected in next week.

“The government went against the high court order to the Supreme Court and got permission for the event. But they violated several rules during the event. The report will be a big embarrassment for the government and it could be the reason that they are delaying the report. Another big question is, how efficiently the BMC will prepare the report,” said city Congress chief Sanjay Nirupam.

An officials involved in the investigation had admitted that the report will take ‘middle-path’ to avoid any controversy. The investigators, it is alleged, are not bothered to inquire about the government officials involved in the preparation and looking for arrangement. They are focusing on the technicians and electricians who were present near the stage at the time of the fire. Their focus is if there was any short-circuit or it was pyrotechnic that caused the blaze.
