Nagpur: In increasing incidents of house-breaking, unidentified burglars targeted four residences in different areas within a span of 24 hours and decamped with cash and valuables collectively worth over Rs 2.65 lakh. No arrests have so far been made in the theft cases.
In the first incident, the miscreants struck at the house of Krishnakant Hariji Roshankhed (58) of Zingabai Takli. When Krishnakant, along with wife had gone out for some domestic work around 12 noon on Monday, the burglars broke open the latch of front door and laid their hands on a Samsung TV and a laptop collectively valued at Rs 60,500. Mankapur police have registered a case and searching for the thieves.
Similarly, another victim house owner, Veena Sanjay Lad (48) of Vidyanagar in Nandanvan, along with her two sons, had gone to Social Welfare Office on Monday. Between 1.45 and 3.45 pm, unidentified goons broke open the lock and decamped with gold ornaments and cash of Rs 25,000 kept in an almirah. Veena was put to loss to the tune of Rs 67,000. Nanadanvan police are investigating the matter.
In the third incident, the Besa resident Mukesh Manikrao Kale (35) was relieved of jewellery and cash of Rs 44,000 by the burglars when he and family had gone to Ujjain. Mukesh’s father too had gone out of station. The collective value of the booty stolen is Rs 64,000. Hudkeshwar cops have booked the miscreants and searching for them.
Similarly, burglars targeted the house of Nandkishore Shravan Rakhde (51) of Kirti Nagar in Hudkeshwar when he went to office on Monday. When Nandkishore returned home in the evening, he found the door lock smashed and booty, including a laptop, blazer and cash, valued at Rs 72,000 stolen. Hudkeshwar police have registered a case and searching for the offenders.
