Nagpur/Mumbai: Nagpur is known for its fondness for splurge and splash during Holi, but this year the city has to do away with water use. And not only Nagpur, entire state will have to follow the suit, given the latest order issued by the State Government.

Sensing the alarming drought situation in several agrarian pockets of Maharashtra, the government has woken up to the mounting dry spell and instantly banned provision of water for rain dance and for all the purpose that entails water wastage! Moreover, the orders also stated that no swimming pool in the city would be also supplied with water till July. The Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has issued these orders to all the Municipal Corporations in the State and instructed them to take adequate measures to stop wastage or pilferage of water.

The orders came in view of the fast depleting water table in the state, especially in Marathwada where only 5 per cent of water is left whereas there is only 40 per cent of water in rest of Maharashtra.
