Nagpur: The newly appointed Chairman of Weaker Sections Committee of Nagpur Municipal Corporation Raju Lokhande on Friday directed the concerned officials to focus their attention on development works in slums and other localities where people of weaker sections lived as soon as the local body’s Budget for 2016-17 is approved. The proposed and pending schemes should be taken up immediately in these areas, Lokhande said.
The first meeting of the Weaker Sections Committee was held on Friday in the Civil Lines office of NMC. Others who attended the meeting include the committee members Raju Nagulwar, Kalpana Bhanarkar, Minatai Tidke, Sujata Kombade, Anita Wankhede, Saroj Bahadure, Pushpa Nimje, Satyabhama Lokhande, Executive Engineer (Slums) D D Jambhulakr, NMC Secretary Harish Dubey, Assistant Commissioners of all 10 zones and others.
Five percent of Budget fund is reserved for development works in slums and other areas of weaker sections.
