Nagpur.
Without actually naming anybody, the Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court, on Thursday, slammed politicians for objectionable and irresponsible statements made against the functioning of the court. The court said it has no interest in running the government but will interfere if somebody crosses the border of the State law.
A senior politician had raised doubts on the functioning of the court. He had said what we (politicians) are to do if court keeps meddling in government affairs.
Justice Bhushan Gavai and Justice Swapna Joshi touched this issue while hearing the petition concerning Chandrapur Government Medical College and Hospital on Thursday. The court said that politicians fight amongst themselves to hijack credit when some work gets done by court order.
The leaders of both the top parties tried to garner credit for the Chandrapur GMCH after the court cleared it. The court revealed that the Medical Council of India, in its report, had recommended denying permission for Chandrapur GMCH. Taunting Gadkari, the court remarked that it was imperative for court to interfere.
