Nagpur: M/s Anjani Logistics, who has been appointed as the Feeder Manager of MSEDCL (Mahavitaran) detected at least 80 cases of power thefts valued at Rs 20 lakh in Kamptee and Kanhan areas in a special drive undertaken from May 2 till to date. The squads of the Feeder Manager inspected each and every meter of consumers in Kamptee-1, Kamptee-2, Modi, Niri and Kanhan feeder areas. The squads detected 80 cases of power theft being committed by consumers and recovered penalties to the tune of Rs 20 lakh.
The guilty in the power thefts include beer bars, hotels, showrooms apart from domestic and commercial consumers. One of the culprit consumers was fined a staggering amount of Rs 2,32,762 for the power theft and criminal offences were registered against five consumers as well during the special drive against power thefts.
The special drive was undertaken under the guidance and directives of MSEDCL’s Nagpur Circle Chief Engineer Prasad Reshme, the then Superintending Engineer Arvind Bhadikar, Executive Engineer Sachin Talewar, Deputy Executive Engineer Dilip Madne, M/s Anjani Logistics’ Mahendra Jichkar.
