- Water supply affected in North, East, South East Nagpur on May 9 (Wednesday)
- Water supply will be normalized on June 10 (Thursday)
Nagpur: A major leakage was developed and detected on 900 mm dia main Kanhan WTP feeder line at Md.Rafi Square near Automotive Square at about 4 am on June 9 (Wednesday).
The 900mm line was isolated and pumping from Kanhan Water Treatment Plantwas stopped. Soon after the leakage detected, OCW’s team of experts reached the spot and took up the repair immediately. The leakage repairing work is going on at war footing till filing of this report and is expected to complete by 8 pm today (June 9, 2016)
However, because of the major leakage and pumping stopped water supply at Asinagar Zone: Mahendra Nagar (Habib nagar, Naya Basti, Panchsheel Nagar, Sujata Nagar, Uppalwadi), and Bastarwadi command areas. And The water Satranjipura zone: (Buddha Nagar & Vaishali Nagar) through Gamdoor valve got adversely affected on June 9.
Further the other areas in North, East and South East Nagpur received low pressure and restricted water supply today (June 9) OCW-NMC jointly has thanked people from North, East and South-East Nagpur for their co-operation during major breakdown period and has appealed for further co-operation also.
OCW has further announced that as the leakage repairing work is going on at war footing and is expected to complete by 8 pm today (June 9, 2016), there will be normal water supply on 10th June morning in the entire area which got affected today.
