Thieves decamp with booty worth Rs 2.20 lakh

Nagpur: Thieves burgled cash and a gold necklace collectively worth Rs 2.20 lakh from the official residence of Principal Commissioner, Income Tax, Rajesh Ranjan Dinanath Prasad at Bungalow No 6, Income Tax Colony, Seminary Hills in Gittikhadan area. Burglars gained entry into Prasad’s bungalow between August 6, 2021 and August 23, 2021 when Prasad had gone to Mumbai.

The intruders made away with Rs 60,000 cash and a gold necklace worth Rs 1.60 lakh after breaking open the lock of an almirah.

Following Prasad’s complaint, Gittikhadan Police registered a case under Sections 454, 457 and 380 of the Indian Penal Code and started investigation.
