Cash Rs 8.55 lakh stolen from house in Shantinagar

Nagpur: Burglars struck at a house and decamped with cash Rs 8.55 lakh in Shantinagar police area here on Friday night.

A resident of VHB Colony, Qtr No. 64, Ujjwala Pankaj Raut alias Patil (40), in her complaint to police said that she closed her PUC Centre around 11.30 pm on Friday and kept the Centre’s cash Rs 8.55 lakh in a steel almirah.

She, along with other family members, later went to sleep. Sometimes later, she heard some noise of opening the almirah and woke up to check. To her shock, she found the cash Rs 8.55 lakh and gold ornaments worth Rs 22,000 missing. Some unidentified miscreants stole the cash and gold ornaments. The burglars gained entry into her house from the rear door of the house.

Shantinagar ASI Rajnarayan registered a case under Sections 457, 380 of the IPC and launched a search to nab the accused.
