Orange City International Film Festival from Dec 18

Nagpur: Orange City Cultural Foundation and Nagpur Municipal Corporation(NMC), inassociation with Saptak,Pune Film Foundation,and Vidarbha Sahitya Sangh,are all set to host two-day Orange City International Film Festival (OCIFF) on December 18 and December 19.

“This year, keeping in mind the COVID-19 situation, we have curtailed upon the number of films and sessions considering travel issues. Still, the movies being screened in two days at Kavi Kulguru Kalidas Auditorium of Persistent Systems in IT Park here, are world-class,” said Dr Chandrashekhar Meshram, President of Orange City Cultural Foundation.This is the fifth edition of OCIFF.

Four movies namely ‘Curfew’, ‘Pig’, ‘The Clan: GOTT’, and‘True Mothers’ will be screened at 10 am, 12 pm, 3 pm, and 5 pm respectively on the first day.The second day will have screening of four more movies namely ‘Sisters:

The Summer We Found Our Superpowers’, ‘Cot: Kattil’, ‘Firastya’, and ‘Towards The Battle’. Of these, ‘The Clan: GOTT’ is Marathi movie directed by Shailendra Krishna Bagde, a Nagpurian.

Another Marathi movie ‘Firastya’ is directed by VitthalMachindraBhosale,who is currently serving as Joint Commissioner, Income Tax, at Nagpur. Both the directors will be personally present and interact with the members of the audience. The entry passes will be available at the venue as well as at Vidarbha Sahitya Sangh.
Entry will be given only after the viewers produce the certificate of full vaccination(twodoses)against COVID-19, Dr Meshram said. Vilas Manekar, Dr Uday Gupte, and Ravindra Dongre also were present at the press conference.
