Students return for Online Classes test positive for Covid-19 at VNIT Nagpur

Nagpur: Couple of students of Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) reportedly tested positive for novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) here on Friday. The students were reportedly come to Nagpur from their native place for offline classes.

According to sources, the online/offline classes were scheduled to start at VNIT shortly. Following which, the students were called to the Second Capital of the State. On arrival, the students underwent RT-PCR tests as a precautionary measure. During the same, at least couple of students were reportedly tested positive for the virus borne disease. While the students diagnosed with Covid-19 are asymptomatic, their close contacts have been advised to self isolate at their respective hostel themselves.

Speaking to Nagpur Today, students staying in the hostel confirmed the news on condition of the anonymity. They have said that college authority should take necessary actions as many student are in the hostel are in the state of fear.

When Nagpur Today tried called VNIT officials all the calls went unattended.
