Nagpur: Following the arrest of notorious criminal and drug trafficker Abu alias Feroze Khan, Nagpur Police have started making a list of his properties amassed through criminal activities in the past two decades. The cops have already produced Abu in the court and obtained his police custody for eight days. After identifying properties of Abu, the police will attach the non-movable assets under provisions of MCOCA. This would be the remedy to block finance for Abu and prohibit him from indulging into further criminal activities, police sources.
After running for almost seven months, Abu was arrested by a special team of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Zone 4 Noorul Hasan from Basura Tola area of Bhandara.
It is pertinent to mention that Abu was operating one of the major drug trafficking networks in Central India and many criminals were working with him to handle the anti-social activities. A total of 38 criminal cases including four murders are registered against Abu in various police stations.
He was also booked under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) in November last year for grabbing properties of many persons in MothaTajbagh area.
It may be mentioned here that Abu had illegally occupied many shops owned by Baba Tajuddin Dargah Trust and his trusted men are running businesses in these shops. The residents of Motha Tajbagh area were not complaining against Abu out of fear. Five complaints were lodged by the residents against Abu after CP Amitesh Kumar had assured stern action against Abu during a Janta Darbar last year.
