Nagpur: Army continues its drive to resuscitate artificial lakes for ground water recharge in Pulgaon Military Station.
The low lying catchment areas, which had silted over with the passage of time, are being developed into lake. They have been desilted, deepened and resuscitated over last one year and artificial lakes for ground water recharge are being created in the Station. All these water bodies are now filling up satisfactorily.
The efforts to recharge the ground water have been ongoing since long time. The fourth of such initiative was started in May. The Station has four large water bodies and multiple small ones and efforts are on to revive all, as the lakes are a great help to the fauna and environment during the hot summer months, said a press release issued by Wg Cdr Ratnakar Singh, PRO Nagpur, MoD.
